Room 8 is a double room and is located on the second floor of the Guesthouse above the restaurant. The room is furnished with furniture made from Ash. It is a mighty tree that grows up to 40m in height. Its leaves are used in medicine. The wood is solid, tough and elastic.
The windows of the room face the popular hiking spot Sv. Vid. The room can accommodate two adults. It has two single beds that can be combined if needed. It is equipped with air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower, an LCD TV with cable channels, bed linen and towels, and free Wi-Fi.

WATER TOWER BREŽICE

The water tower was built in 1914 as a part of the city's water supply system. It is 46 metres high and mostly round with an octagonal reservoir sitting at the top supported by sixteen consoles. Apart from the water tower in Kranj, built in 1911, the Brežice Water Tower is the only example of this kind of building from that time in Slovenia and demonstrates an interesting water supply solution for lowland areas. Powered by a power plant, it was in operation until 1983, while today it invites visitors to Brežice from afar.
After a thorough renovation (2021-2022), it is now open to all visitors from November 26, 2022.

Vineyards and repnice

Wine, the sun and smiling people – concepts from wine-growing region of Posavje. If you fancy a taste of the region in its essence, you must visit the authentic vineyards and the cult repnice, hand-carved sand cellars which were used for storage of harvest. Nowadays they are mostly tourist sights and a place to store and age excellent wines which are always accompanied by home-made treats and funny stories from the hosts.

BREŽICE CASTLE and BREŽICE POSAVIAN MUSEUM

The castle was probably built by the Salzburgers in the 12th century. In the 16th century, during peasant uprisings, it was destroyed and burned several times and then rebuilt. The Attens family turned it into their residence and arranged the so-called The Knight's Hall, which today represents the only example of baroque secular painting in Slovenia. Today, many concerts and other events are held there.
Since 1949, the Posavski Museum of Brežice has also been operating in the castle, where you can see the archaeological collection from prehistoric times until the arrival of the Slavs in this area, objects from the ethnological collection of the 19th and 20th centuries, the collection of Peasant Revolts from the 16th century and many other interesting things.

KOSTANJEVIŠKA CASTLE WITH BOŽIDAR JAKAC GALLERY

The lovely town of Kostanjevica on Krka is the only Slovenian town on the island. It is surrounded by the river Krka, which in summer attracts many lovers of natural swimming pools, rowers, hikers, and cyclists. Old wooden bridges connect the mainland and the island on both sides. The Božidar Jakac Gallery has been operating since 1974 in the Kostanjevica Castle on the premises of the former Cistercian monastery, where you can see an extensive collection of 20th-century art and works of art in a permanent exhibition.

KOSTANJEVIŠKA CAVE

If you decide to visit Kostanjevica on Krka, you should not miss a visit to the Kostanjevica Cave at the foot of the Gorjanci Mountains. A 300 m trail is available for tourists to explore the rugged karst terrain. The cave is 2 km long, but the entire cave area has not yet been explored. Cave trails are suitable for both children and the elderly. The guided tour of the cave lasts 40 minutes.

RAJHENBURG CASTLE

In the first half of the 12th century, the Rajhenburg Castle was built on a rocky outcrop above Brestanica and the Sava River by Archbishop Konrad of Salzburg. Over the centuries, the castle acquired its present appearance with its many owners. In 1881, the castle was bought by the Trappists and converted into a monastery, which operated until 1941, when the German occupation authorities converted the castle and its buildings into a resettlement camp for the expulsion of Slovenes. It was nationalized in 1947, and a prison operated there until 1966. On the foundations of the Trappist heritage, the Kunej chocolate shop, a wine gallery, a castle cafe, and a castle pastry shop operate within the castle. While walking through the castle, you can see several extremely interesting exhibitions, such as Trappists from Rajhenburg, Castle furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries, Slovenian exiles 1941 - 1945, Primož Kozmos - Honors, Clothing appearance of the Rahjenburgs and other exhibitions.

SEVNICA CASTLE

Sevniška Castle was probably built in the 12th century. It rises above the city center of Sevnica and the banks of the Sava River. Unlike many other castles, it was not destroyed during the peasant uprisings. Among the many special features of the castle is the Lutheran cellar, which Jurij Dalmatin is said to have visited in the 16th century and, among other things, later served as the tomb of some Sevniš manors, but otherwise little is known about its origins. An essential component of the cellar is its painting, which represents a rare example of the painting technique in oil tempera on a conventional painting base and is an example of mannerism in the painting of the 16th century. Due to its excellent acoustics, it is suitable for holding concerts and other events.

PODSREDA CASTLE

Podsreda Castle, "the most castle-like castle in Slovenia", has a special place among the castles in the area of Kozjanski Park, as it still lives today with its rich cultural activity. It is one of the few cultural monuments of the Romanesque era, which in the last thirty years, from an almost dilapidated state, through a comprehensive renovation, became an important carrier of cultural, promotional-educational, social, and touristic offers in this part of Slovenia. Podsreda Castle, a monument of local importance, is owned by the Municipality of Kozje, and the castle is managed by the Kozjanski Park Public Institution.

RIPNICE

Repnice, part of the Bizeljsko-Sremiška wine road, is one of the specialties that will certainly not leave you indifferent. These are caves excavated in quartz sand, where they used to store turnips over the winter, which was the main fodder for livestock and from which turnips got their name. After the abandonment of this type of storage, the wine cellars became monuments of the past, and many winegrowers converted them into a place for storing and tasting wines. For example, in the villages of Brezovica, Bizeljsko, Pišece, and Globoko, you can even visit the more than 200-year-old repnice. Their visit is a truly unique experience. Some of them have unusually interesting ornaments on the ceiling or the walls. They have the ideal temperature and humidity, which are necessary for the storage and maturation of wines. We recommend:

Kostanjevica cave

Kostanjevica Cave lies at the foot of the Gorjanci hills, a diverse karst terrain with cretaceous limestone. Rain water, subterranean watercourses and tectonic movements spent millennia creating dreamlike cave formations with fairytale motives.
The footpaths in the cave are suitable for children as well as older visitors. A guided tour with explanation lasts 40 minutes. The constant temperature in the cave is 12 degrees Celsius.

KANUING

In the summer months, you can enjoy rowing tours along the Krka River, with or without a guide, and swim in the well-kept swimming pools of the Krka River, which offer locals and tourists a pleasant cooling off during the hot summer months. Horseback riding

150 m away is Farm Zevnik which offers guided tours of their stables, horse-back walks or individual lessons in the manege or on the terrain. All is available to children, beginners and experienced riders.

THE HOLY VISION and ČATEŽ ENERGY PATH

The path to Sveti Vid begins near the Les Guesthouse. A 20-30 minute normal walk up the hill is excellent recreation and relaxation suitable even for children. From Sveti Vid, there is a view of the entire Krško-Brežice field.
For more dedicated hikers, a great tour is the Čatež's energy trail, a fairly gentle trail suitable for most hikers. Along the way, you will be accompanied by energy vortices that have a beneficial effect on humans. Guided hikes are conducted by the guides of the Tourist Information Center Čatež ob Sava.

The tree grows to about 45m in height. The bark of the trunk is used in medicine, mainly because of the tannin. Oak occupies approximately 8% of our forests.

It covers as much as 30% of our forests. This mighty tree grows up to 60m in height. Spruce wood is soft and elastic.

ALPAKA RANCH PEPITO & FRIENDS

Bizeljsko has also become the place where we have Alpaca Ranch Pepito and friends. In addition to the herd of alpacas, the ranch also has mini Shetland ponies, mini Himalayan goats, ducks, and chickens. The purpose of the ranch is to find a new contact between nature and people. Breeding, care, and life with these animals they want to present and bring closer to visitors. In younger people generations, they want to educate and raise awareness about a respectful, heartfelt and sensitive attitude towards all living things around us. Above all, for visitors to relax at the ranch, they regain contact with themselves and the living beings around them, they are filled with positive energy, and new things startup. They offer an animated guided tour and presentation of all the above mentioned animals, animal feeding, demonstration of daily care activities, and workshops. In the summer months (July and August) they also offer yoga and meditation among the alpacas.

Hiking

Čatež energy path
Pleasant and undemanding footpath runs from Terme Čatež along the river Sava embankment and continues past Illyrian mounds towards St. Vid. When you reach the church of St. Vid you will be offered a breathtaking view over the Sava valley towards the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Orlica and all the way to Croatia and over the whole Brežice-Krško valley. After ringing the wish bell, you continue towards the village Cerina and over “women’s stairs” back to Čatež, where an asphalt road will guide you back to where you started.

The walk is approximately one hour long and is suitable for adults as well as children.

Golf

On the intact surroundings of the famous Castle Mokrice one of the first golf courses created in Slovenia is spreading. The course offers 18 holes with length of 5835 meters, covering 47 hectares.
